These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the StormLedge website and application (the "Service"), operated by Stormledge ("StormLedge," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
StormLedge is an AI-assisted tool for designing, generating, backtesting, and simulating algorithmic trading strategies using a domain-specific strategy language.
Simulated only — no real trading. The "live" mode in StormLedge is a simulated paper-trading tracker. It calculates hypothetical positions, P&L, and signals based on your strategy and market data feeds — it is not connected to any brokerage, exchange, or real trading account, and it does not execute real trades or transact with real money. Nothing in the Service should be interpreted as StormLedge placing, recommending, or facilitating a real-world trade on your behalf.
StormLedge is an informational and educational tool. Nothing generated by the Service — including AI-generated strategy code, backtest results, simulated live results, or chat responses — constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice, or a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any security or instrument. Outputs are generated algorithmically from the inputs you provide and are not personalized recommendations based on your individual financial situation, objectives, or risk profile. Backtested and simulated performance does not predict or guarantee real-world results. You are solely responsible for any trading or investment decisions you make, whether or not informed by the Service, and you should consult a qualified professional before making them.
We are not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, investment firm, or provider of portfolio management services under any applicable law (including MiFID II), and nothing in the Service should be construed as such.
Hypothetical/simulated performance disclaimer. Backtest and simulated live results shown in the Service are hypothetical: they were achieved with the benefit of hindsight, do not represent actual trading, and do not account for factors such as liquidity constraints, slippage, market impact, or the emotional and psychological aspects of real trading. Hypothetical performance results have inherent limitations, and no representation is made that any account or strategy will or is likely to achieve results similar to those shown.
Strategy code, explanations, and suggestions produced by the AI assistant are generated automatically and may contain errors, be incomplete, or not behave as described. Review any AI-generated code before relying on its output. We make no warranty that AI-generated content is accurate, complete, or fit for any particular purpose.
You acknowledge that you are interacting with an AI system when using the chat assistant, strategy generator, and related features of the Service.
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent that you meet these requirements.
You may use the Service anonymously via a browser session, or sign in with Google to persist your account across devices and sessions. You're responsible for maintaining the security of your Google account and for all activity that occurs through your session. Notify us if you become aware of unauthorized use.
If you're signed in, you can permanently delete your account at any time from the Account page. Doing so immediately and irreversibly deletes your account and every project you own — there is no recovery period or undo once you confirm. See the Privacy Policy, Sections 6 and 7, for what this does and doesn't remove.
You retain ownership of the strategy descriptions, code, and other content you submit to the Service ("Your Content"). By submitting Your Content, you grant us a license to host, store, process, and transmit it — including to third-party service providers such as our AI model provider and sandboxed execution environment — solely as necessary to operate and provide the Service to you. See the Privacy Policy for details on which providers process Your Content and why.
You're responsible for Your Content and represent that you have the right to submit it and that it doesn't violate any law or third party's rights.
You agree not to: use the Service for any unlawful purpose; attempt to bypass, disable, or interfere with the sandboxed code execution environment or its isolation, or use it to attack, scan, or access systems you're not authorized to access; attempt to circumvent authentication, session, or admin access controls; interfere with or disrupt the Service's infrastructure or other users' access to it; scrape, reverse engineer, or extract the Service's underlying models, prompts, or source code except as permitted by law; or upload or generate content that is unlawful, infringing, or malicious.
We may suspend or terminate access for violations of this section.
We track usage of AI generation and sandboxed code execution (e.g., token counts, execution duration, cost, success/failure) as described in the Privacy Policy, for operational and billing-readiness purposes.
We enforce daily limits on certain actions (including AI-assisted messages/generations, backtests, and projects created), which reset at midnight UTC. Anonymous sessions are given a lower daily allowance than signed-in accounts. We may change these limits, or impose additional ones, at our discretion and without notice, including resetting a specific account's or session's limit early at our discretion. If you hit a limit, the affected action will be temporarily unavailable until it resets (or is reset early).
The Service, including its software, design, strategy language, and branding, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms don't grant you any rights to our intellectual property except the limited right to use the Service as intended.
The Service relies on third-party providers (including Google, Anthropic, and Modal) to function. We're not responsible for the availability, performance, or independent terms of those third-party services.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE. StormLedge is offered as a work-in-progress product and may change or break without notice.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, STORMLEDGE AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR TRADING/INVESTMENT LOSSES, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, WHETHER OR NOT WE'VE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. THIS INCLUDES ANY LOSSES RELATED TO STRATEGIES, BACKTEST RESULTS, OR SIMULATED LIVE RESULTS GENERATED BY THE SERVICE, WHETHER OR NOT YOU ACT ON THEM IN THE REAL WORLD.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded under Finnish or applicable EU law. If you're a consumer, this limitation of liability doesn't affect the statutory rights you have under Finnish or EU consumer protection law, which take precedence over any conflicting provision in these Terms.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless StormLedge and its operators from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion. You may stop using the Service at any time.
We may modify or discontinue the Service, or update these Terms, at any time. We'll update the "Last updated" date when we change these Terms. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
These Terms are governed by the laws of Finland, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or the Service will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Finland, except that if you're a consumer resident elsewhere in the EU/EEA, mandatory consumer protection rules may also entitle you to bring proceedings in the courts of your own country of residence, and nothing in this section limits that right.
